About “Every Day is a Natural High”

I was in my 20’s when I wrote this song inspired by my man. He has been my
muse for a very long time. We had the joy of being young together! He was a
quiet man when I first got to know him and he often seemed too quiet, like
pensive. So, although I don’t remember the specific moment of this song’s
creation, I can see the beginning of our relationship in it. We became a couple in
1980 and have remained steadfast and true. It truly is a natural high!

What does “Every day is like a rainbow, all those colors in the sky” mean? At the
time I wrote this song it meant clarity in vision. Being able to see and dwell in the
moment of a rainbow throwing colors across the sky. Being observant and living in
the moment. Having my partner with me then is the natural high of every day.
