    Wrapping Up My Second Album

This second album, Child of the 60’s, has taken much longer than Matt Miller and I expected. We began working on it in early 2025 and originally thought the studio work would be finished by the end of June that year. Then we hoped for the end of 2025. Then I set my sights on finishing by my birthday near the end of March 2026. As often happens with creative work, the timing had other ideas.

Today is April 19, 2026. Last Thursday night, Dennis Flink made it to the studio and recorded the long-awaited lead…

How to Begin Sharing Your Music Without Overwhelm

A simple path for older creatives, returning musicians, and anyone who wants to begin without pressure.

Many people do not avoid sharing their music because they lack passion or talent. They avoid it because the process feels overwhelming.

There are so many possible steps. Recording. Websites. Videos. Email lists. Social media. Streaming platforms. Graphics. Promotion. Technology. It can begin to feel as if you need to build an entire small business before you are allowed to share one song.

    You do not.

    You…

Is It Too Late to Start Sharing My Music?

A gentle answer for older creatives, returning musicians, and anyone who still feels called to be heard.

Many people carry music inside them for years before they begin sharing it. Life gets busy. Confidence fades. Time passes. Technology changes. And at some point, a painful question can begin to rise: Is it too late to start sharing my music?

    My answer is simple.

    No, it isn’t too late.

It may feel late. It may feel awkward. You may feel vulnerable. But that does not mean the opportunity has passed. In many…

    Working on my YouTube Channel

Happy Easter! I've been busy this last month or so working on my YouTube channel. I created four playlists and assigned videos to the appropriate playlist then updated all my titles and descriptions to bring more consistency to my listings.

The four playlists are as follows:

    1. Songwriter's Chair - I give a description of how the song came to be and play a bit of it
    2. Songs from the Music Room - live performances I record in my music room
    3. Studio Diary - any video clips from time spent in the studio for a song
    4. …

    Pauline's Music Room on YouTube

Hello and welcome. These last two weeks have seen a tremendous improvement in my YouTube channel appearance and overall plan. I learned the value of creating playlists and tagging song videos appropriately for the playlists. I now have four playlists: Songwriter's Chair - where I talk about the origin of the song and play a bit of it; Live Performance - performances that have been captured on video in front of an audience; Studio Diary - this includes any video or images taken while recording in the studio…

Recording the Harmonica on "Just Go to Hell" from the new album, Child of the 60's

Last night was a great experience at The New Berlin Conservatory of Music studio. I was well prepared to record a harmonica part for this song and Matt Miller, my producer, liked it and helped me do more than I had originally intended.

A forty-minute video was captured of some of the recording and I posted a super short clip online today showing me and Matt in the studio environment. I was in the amazing room with great acoustics and Matt was in the control booth. The video is filmed from inside the control…

    Momentum in March 2026

Tomorrow night I will record a harmonica part for a song on the second album called “Just Go to Hell”. I have never played harmonica before, so it’s a new experience - challenging, but rewarding. I think I have a good part in mind and hope that my producer also likes it.

When I started this website in January 2025, I didn't really know where I was going with it. The whole idea was to put my music online so that anyone could hear it and hopefully enjoy. Numbers have improved for site visitors and music…

    January 2026 Update

Winter is upon us. It is colder than it's been in several years and we have more snow this year too. It's almost like winter days of old!

Child of the 60's - Album update: We are really close to the finish line. Three songs remain in need of additional tracks for completion, then everything gets fine tuned for sound levels and noise elimination. I'm sure there is more producer Matt Miller will do as he is very detail oriented and a perfectionist. Good things are happening because of his focus. I am hoping…

    Happy Holidays! Updates and Greetings!

It was a good Christmas this year; quiet and free from worry. Chuck and I were able to video chat with friends and family. It was a fun day.

My pending album release, “Child of the 60's”, has been held up in the studio for various reasons. For the last three weeks I had bronchitis after a bad cold, so I haven't been doing anything productive other than coughing.

I had fully expected to complete the album and have CDs available in 2025 but I'm okay with it taking longer than originally anticipated. The more…

    September Update

The summer went by very quickly. Chuck and I were in Colorado from July 1st until August 7th. Then we were in Illinois for a 50th Anniversary Party where I played a song I wrote for the happy couple. The recording is very compressed and doesn't look great but the sound is tolerable, and the song can be understood.

I have continued to work with my mentor, Alaura Lovelight, on building an email list and figuring out what to say to subscribers. I created a product in Canva to help incentivize people to join my…
