This second album, Child of the 60’s, has taken much longer than Matt Miller and I expected. We began working on it in early 2025 and originally thought the studio work would be finished by the end of June that year. Then we hoped for the end of 2025. Happy Easter! I've been busy this last month or so working on my YouTube channel. I created four playlists and assigned videos to the appropriate playlist then updated all my titles and descriptions to bring more consistency to my listings.

Last night was a great experience at The New Berlin Conservatory of Music studio. I was well prepared to record a harmonica part for this song and Matt Miller, my producer, liked it and helped me do more than I had originally intended. 

A forty-minute video was captured of some of the recording and I posted a super short clip online today showing me and Matt in the studio environment. I was in the amazing room with great acoustics and Matt was in the control booth. The video is filmed from inside the control…

Tomorrow night I will record a harmonica part for a song on the second album called “Just Go to Hell”. I have never played harmonica before, so it’s a new experience - challenging, but rewarding. I think I have a good part in mind and hope that my producer also likes it.

It was a good Christmas this year; quiet and free from worry. Chuck and I were able to video chat with friends and family. It was a fun day.

The summer went by very quickly. Chuck and I were in Colorado from July 1st until August 7th. Then we were in Illinois for a 50th Anniversary Party where I played a song I wrote for the happy couple. The recording is very compressed and doesn't look great but the sound is tolerable, and the song can be understood.

On April 24th I went to the New Berlin Conservatory of Music studio and watched as Dave Schoepke played the drum kit on five of my tracks. Studio work is great but man, I'd love to be doing a live performance with this guy!

Being a septuagenarian is an interesting experience. In so many ways, my life is the same as always; music, songwriting, house work, checking on my children and grandchildren, keeping my husband happy as much as possible, puttering about indoors for the winter and then puttering about the gardens in the spring. 

The body starts going weird in your 60's. Weaker. Less stamina. Tired more easily. My knees are just about shot. Hand pain occasionally from the “itis” brothers, so working with my hands to keep them…

Sunday, March 30th was my birthday (and Eric Clapton's although he is 8 years older) and it was a really good one. I spent several hours at The New Berlin Conservatory of Music in the studio recording the last three final vocal tracks for the new album. 

Now my main work on the album is basically done. Unless I hear a need for more work on any of the vocal tracks, I will not be adding more vocals. My guitar work is basically done, too. There are some songs where I might add another layer of guitar but that…

We had a chance to record the three remaining vocal tracks on Sunday, March 23rd, but there were technical difficulties. Pro Tools kept shutting down for no apparent reason. After two hours of patiently trying to get it functional, Matt finally called the session. 

We do what we can, when we can. All things have to work in our favor to have the best sounds recorded for any album. Things were not totally favorable for us on Sunday but we'll try again next weekend.

On Saturday, March 8th, I recorded two vocal tracks for the new album coming out this year. But today, March 9, 2025, was super special. Hardly any edits or punches needed, it was amazing. Two out of five vocal tracks were done on the first take. It was a great experience.

Over this last weekend, I met with producer, Matt Miller, at The New Berlin Conservatory of Music and recorded ten guitar tracks for the new album. Only two tracks to go. 

This is my first time recording with a click track. For those who don't know what a click track is, it's like a metronome clicking out a beat through headphones that only the players hear while playing and recording. This makes it possible to add layers of instruments and/or voices over top of my original guitar tracks.
