How to Begin Sharing Your Music Without Overwhelm

A simple path for older creatives, returning musicians, and anyone who wants to begin without pressure.

Many people do not avoid sharing their music because they lack passion or talent. They avoid it because the process feels overwhelming.

There are so many possible steps. Recording. Websites. Videos. Email lists. Social media. Streaming platforms. Graphics. Promotion. Technology. It can begin to feel as if you need to build an entire small business before you are allowed to share one song.

    You do not.

    You…

Is It Too Late to Start Sharing My Music?

A gentle answer for older creatives, returning musicians, and anyone who still feels called to be heard.

Many people carry music inside them for years before they begin sharing it. Life gets busy. Confidence fades. Time passes. Technology changes. And at some point, a painful question can begin to rise: Is it too late to start sharing my music?

    My answer is simple.

    No, it isn’t too late.

It may feel late. It may feel awkward. You may feel vulnerable. But that does not mean the opportunity has passed. In many…

EPK Completed - Looking at Venues for Bookings

Working with Alaura Lovelight has been so beneficial! I have learned to use Canva to create images and docs, like the EPK shown to the left.

We are working right now to identify appropriate venues for my music and get their contact information for booking. I created a template for an email or cover letter to send to the booking managers that can be personalized for each venue.

I have a two hour set that is just about ready to go and suddenly, I am doing exactly what I wanted to do! I have manifested this…

    A New Mentor Has Appeared

In May 2025, I found a young woman offering her guidance for musicians and creatives floundering on the shoals of some problem or other in trying to get their creations out into the world. Her stage name, professional name, is Alaura Lovelight. She is not only a recording artist, she is also a teacher at heart. What I am learning from Alaura is how to present my brand, my songs, to potential venues to get bookings, and to other places, like radio stations, playlists, and people looking for songs. The goal…

Seven Vocal Tracks in One Weekend!

It was a really great weekend here. Warm temps and sunshine. Beautiful weather.

On Saturday, March 8th, I recorded two vocal tracks for the new album coming out this year. But today, March 9, 2025, was super special. Hardly any edits or punches needed, it was amazing. Two out of five vocal tracks were done on the first take. It was a great experience.

My producer, Matt Miller and I were working in the studio today. Matt owns the studio and is the producer, recording engineer, master editor, and creative…

New Video Posted on YouTube, "He's My Man"

I did get a video recorded on March 1, 2025 but only uploaded it today to my YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@PaulineTrabertMusic

This video is of a song I recorded in my little studio area. It's called “He's My Man”.

My man, my husband since August 5, 1983 (42 years this year!) is what this song is about. This man is absolutely my better half. He is always there for me and tends to put me first in everything.

The song is an attempt to say how much he means to me and how much I care about him…

Getting Back on the Horse After the Fall

The one thing that stops us in our tracks faster than anything else is being unwell. I'm just getting over a nasty cold that started in my head late on February 16th and then moved to my chest around the 21st. Wanting to record more song videos but still sound all congested. Going to do it anyway. I just read a quote from Inky Johnson (Author-Motivational Speaker-Former Athlete) that said: Be stronger than your strongest excuse. Perfect timing on my part.

We are working on the new album. I was able to lay…

    Recording Videos

Recording videos has been a real learning experience for me and I've only just started. Over the last several days I recorded about a dozen videos of me singing one of my songs, “Bring Me Some Joy”. I kept adjusting the amplification of the guitar trying to get a better sound, but I ended up using the very first video I recorded.

The videos were whittled down from a dozen to seven before I captured them in this image. I was practically mortified yesterday going through all the remaining videos, trying to…

    The Struggle and the Fun

My debut album, Worth Giving, was produced in September 2024. I received the CDs right away but it took until today, this very day, for my tracks to be streaming through the various services CD Baby offers in their plan. It was a struggle to get to this point because I didn't know what I needed to do.

Figuring things out can be fun but equally frustrating. I'm still trying to figure out how to edit my website here at PaulineTrabert.com.  It goes through an interface at Bandzoogle.com with a platform…

    Out of the Blue? Yeah!

When I created the header image for this site it just struck me as “Out of the Blue”. My disembodied head floating in a field of sort of royal blue signifies my stepping into the music arena in the last quarter of my life. I'm out there alone, but I'm no longer nervous about it. I'm already where I want to be, this is just icing on the cake.

Singing has been a thing in my life since about 1963. When I was 10 I had a music teacher that encouraged me to sing more. She featured me in programs we put on for our…
