On April 24th I went to the New Berlin Conservatory of Music studio and watched as Dave Schoepke played the drum kit on five of my tracks. Studio work is great but man, I'd love to be doing a live performance with this guy! 

He is a true professional and a very courteous and friendly person. He posed for this image as we were between tracks. He was able to add just the right touch to the songs we wanted to blow up a bit. 

As a solo performer, it's wonderful to get together with great local musicians, even if only in the studio, to add some punch and a great beat to some of my more rocking songs. I wanted some toe-tapping and that's what we now have!

The tracks we added drums to were He's My Man, My Life, Where Did I Go Wrong, Child of the 60's, and Feel the Same. The plan is to add bass guitar and overlay some lead guitar on these same tracks so they sound like a full band. That is one big goal of mine; to put a band together that will make this all happen in live performance. 

This is the year to make things happen with my music. In addition to releasing my second album, “Child of the 60's”, I am actively searching for other mature musicians to put a band together featuring our original music. We can always do cover tunes as needed, but getting our own music out there is always the goal of most singer/songwriters. 

With May being a busy month, Dennis Flink and I won't be able to get together again until May 22nd so the recording is on hold for now. Even then, Dennis is a very busy musician. His long-time band, Boney Fingers, is still going strong. Band members have changed over the years but the sound is still as good as ever and their fans just love them! Dennis is also in a new Allman Brothers tribute band called One Way Out. He has other musical gigs going on as well as a full-time day job. The man is ambitious! And a really good guitarist and singer.
