From the recording Worth Giving
About “This Moment I Sing”
Although I don’t remember the exact moment this song was written, ironically, I
remember my goal was to write a classical sounding song. I feel we accomplished
this in the version of the song on the Worth Giving album. Amy Miller’s flute and
Dennis Flink’s guitar work in this version are both really beautiful.
The message in this song is about living in this moment, right here, right now. Sing
the song this moment. Seek each other out in this moment. Be here now. Live in
each moment as if it were your last. Appreciate each moment.
Lyrically, I wanted to create a love song for the ages that speaks of love in the
verses, and how this verse of love is as old as time but forever young.
Track 5: This Moment I Sing – flute: Amy Miller, lead guitar: Dennis Flink, acoustic guitar and vocals: Pauline Trabert

Here am I this moment I sing
My love in boundless verse I bring
To you, the one who knows me best
For you I wish only peace and rest
I’ll love you ‘til my dying day
I know these words sound easy to say
But for now, This Moment I Sing
And the words are the love I bring
Carry me away with your eyes once more
Let me see you smile, and all the while
Let me hold you in my heart every moment of the day
Loving you my way
And when the years have come and gone
And memories are all that linger on
I’ll be here in this verse of love
As old as time but forever young
I’ll love you ‘til my dying day
I know these words sound easy to say
But for now, This Moment I Sing
And the words are the love I bring
Carry me away with your eyes once more
Let me see you smile, and all the while
Let me hold you in my heart every moment of the day
Loving you my way
And when the years have come and gone
And memories are all that linger on
I’ll be here in this verse of love
As old as time but forever young
For I this moment I sing
My love in boundless verse I bring
To you, the one who knows me best
For you I wish only peace and rest
